How can I cite a source that was written by more than one author?

In-text citation for a source written by two authors: Boxall and Purcell (2016) indicate ... OR ... (Boxall & Purcell, 2016).
In-text citation for a source written by three or more authors: Segal et al. (2016) suggest that ... OR ... (Segal et al., 2016).
