What is APA style and why do I have to use it?
Answer
APA stands for the American Psychological Association. It is the standard style used by the majority of courses here at Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT). Some courses/programmes may require you to use a different style.
Referencing is important to avoid plagiarism - Plagiarism is using other people's work in your assignment without acknowledging where it came from. It is a type of academic misconduct for which there may be significant consequences.
To access the APA Referencing guidelines - Go to the MIT Library and Learning Services website and then click on the Referencing: APA and IEEE tab.
