How can I cite and reference a chapter in an edited book (author of the chapter is not the same as editor/s of the book)?

Answer

Here is the format for referencing a chapter in an edited book:

Author. (Date). Chapter title. In Editor (Ed.), Title of the book (page range of chapter). Publisher. DOI/URL

For example:

Garland, R., & Ferkins, L. (2012). Sport marketing. In S. Leberman, C. Collins, & L. Trenberth (Eds.), Sport business management in New Zealand and Australia (3rd ed., pp. 192-214). Cengage Learning.

In-text citation: Garland and Ferkins (2012) ... OR ... (Garland & Ferkins, 2012).

Please refer to pp. 11-12 of the MIT APA Referencing Full Guide for more examples regarding citing and referencing a chapter in an edited book.
